Lentus is proud to partner with Dow, a company dedicated to building a more sustainable future. Our partnership reflects our commitment to offering top-quality solutions that align with environmentally friendly practices. Dow is making significant strides in sustainability by advancing silicone recycling, which plays a critical role in the transition to a circular economy, where materials are reused, refurbished, or recycled to minimize waste. By embracing recycling, Dow aims to reduce waste while maintaining high-performance silicone.
Silicones in Sustainable Practices
Dow’s silicones are known for their durability, supporting high-performance applications over extended periods. This longevity improves product lifespan and contributes to waste reduction and lower maintenance needs. Dow is also focusing on designing silicones for recyclability by working with customers to create products that are easier to recycle.
Silicone Recycling
Dow has partnered with Circusil LLC to develop North America’s first silicone recycling plant. Operations are set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024. This facility will focus on recycling silicone waste and end-of-life products generated from Dow’s U.S. operations, as well as post-industrial waste streams from selected customers, transforming waste into usable silicone polymers.
By turning silicone waste and end-of-life products into new resources, Dow is taking the next steps toward a more sustainable future. If you want to learn more about recycling your Dow silicone waste, reducing your carbon footprint, and lowering emissions, contact Dow here.
