DOWFROST™ is the only inhibited glycol made with DOW PuraGuard™ Propylene Glycol USP/EP, a pharmaceutical grade of monopropylene glycol with specified purity greater than 99.8%. Competitor products are often made from recycled or industrial grade glycols, or from glycols derived from bio-renewable sources. These glycols typically do not meet USP specifications as they contain significant amounts of impurities like ethylene glycol or diethylene glycol, which at certain levels affect toxicity. DOWFROST™ prolongs your fluid lifetime and is made with the highest industry purity propylene glycol combined with long lasting, food safe, corrosion inhibitors.
DOWFROST™ is the best choice you can make for dependable, long-lasting freeze protection to temperatures as low as -60°F, and burst protection to -100°F. DOWFROST™ also contains specially formulated packages of industrial inhibitors that help prevent corrosion. Because propylene glycol fluids have low acute oral toxicity, DOWFROST™ propylene glycol-based fluids are often used in applications where contact with food or beverage products could occur.
